Advisor, Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, inaugurated the newly constructed Chiephobozou Town Council (CTC) office building on December 3 at CTC Hall, Chiephobozou.
According to a DIPR report, Zhaleo congratulated the CTC team for completing the office building with sufficient accommodation within limited resources. He urged the elected councillors, ADC and executive officer of CTC to ensure that any revenue generated or ULB fund allocation be openly discussed and deliberated during house meetings, with decisions taken through consensus and accountability.
Encouraging councillors to work as a team under one umbrella for the development of the subdivision, Zhaleo appealed to them to exercise their powers and responsibilities as defined in the Municipal Act judiciously. He also stressed the need for genuine enumeration in the upcoming Census, pointing out that population census and E-roll had not been properly recorded in the past.
Earlier, Zhaleo unveiled the monolith. He was accompanied by MLA Y.M. Humtsoe and officials from the Urban Development and Municipal Affairs department.
CTC chairperson, Khrielelie Kerhuo, presented the building construction report. Short speeches were delivered by OSD to chief minister, Neibalie Rio, NAPO president, Keduo-O Zumu, and commissioner & secretary, Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Kekhrievor Kevichusa.
The programme was chaired by CTC deputy chairperson, Kekhrieneinuo Zumvü. ADC Chiephobozou, Alemyapang Longchar, delivered the welcome address, followed by invocation from pastor Pavi Pao of CRC Chiephobozou. Special number was presented by Viketounuo Kerhuo, while Chiephobozou Town Women Organisation presented a group song. Vote of thanks was delivered by CTC councillor, Ruvuotuonuo Ruth.
