The Zunheboto Range Students’ Union (ZRSU) has appealed to the Director General of Police (DGP), Nagaland, to postpone the proposed police recruitment rally scheduled to begin from January 7, 2026, citing a clash with the 40th ZRSU general conference.
In a representation submitted through SP Zunheboto, ZRSU president Vimi K. Zhimo and general secretary Holonto S. Zhimomi stated that as per the notification issued by DGP’s office, the recruitment rally (physical/medical standards test) would be conducted from January 7 onwards, including at Zunheboto district headquarters.
ZRSU pointed out that its 40th general conference is scheduled to be held from January 6 to 9, 2026, at Yezami village under Zunheboto district. The union described the general conference as a major organisational event involving extensive preparations, participation of students, volunteers and coordination with various stakeholders across the district.
The union said the overlapping dates would create serious difficulties for students, volunteers, organisers and other stakeholders who are expected to take part in both events.
It further cautioned that the schedule clash could lead to logistical challenges and inconvenience at the district level.
In view of this, ZRSU has requested DGP to consider postponing the recruitment rally to a later, convenient date so that both the recruitment process and the students’ conference can be conducted smoothly without hindrance.
