The first -ever Inter-Tribal Cultural Dance competition organized by Zeliang Students’ Union Dimapur (ZSUD) will be held on September 14, 2024, at Holy Cross Higher Secondary School Auditorium, under the theme “Cultural Synergy: Embracing Heritage, Inspiring Tomorrow.”
Addressing a press conference, ZSUD president Asap Zeliang mentioned that the programme will mark a significant milestone in the efforts to celebrate and preserve the rich cultural heritage of the diverse tribes of Nagas. He mentioned that 22 tribes have been invited to participate in the event but as of now 10 tribes have registered.
He also informed that there will spot registration and each tribe will be represented by a single cultural troupe. ZSUD general secretary Kewitingwang Newmai said that the union has collaborated with the Department of Tourism, Department of Art and Culture, and various local sponsors, including the Department of Tribal Affairs, Dimapur Municipal Council, Tenyimi Union Dimapur, Apex Motor, Hailam Here Enterprise Jalukie,G-Sports, Eduright Montessori Teacher Training Institute and Shoppers Yard.
Social and cultural secretary Ngaulubui Nambau said that the primary goal was to foster a deeper sense of unity and understanding among the various tribal communities in Dimapur and beyond. The competition will be judged by Seyievinuo, Anung Walling, and Gugu Haralu.
