Nagaland’s Chuba Longkumer guards TRAU’s goal in Durand Cup

DIMAPUR, AUG (NPN): Chuba Nochet Longkumer, a promising goalkeeper from Nagaland, is currently participating in the prestigious Durand Cup 2026 as part of the Tiddim Road Athletic Union (TRAU), popularly known as the “Red Python.”
Chuba’s journey in football began during his school days at Delhi Public School, Dimapur and continued through his college years, where he nurtured the dream of reaching national and international levels. Known for his soft-spoken nature and strong determination, he steadily worked towards his goal of defending the nets for his teams.
His professional training started with Minerva Punjab before moving to Imphal to train under the Classic Football Academy (CFA). In 2022, he represented Dimapur in the Late T. Ao Tournament, where his team lifted the trophy. He later joined Churchill Brothers, sharpening his skills further before returning to represent Nagaland in the Santosh Trophy 2025. His performance was instrumental in Nagaland’s historic victories over football powerhouses Manipur and Mizoram, which shocked the national football fraternity.
In 2026, TRAU signed Chuba for their I-League squad, marking another milestone in his career. His participation in the Durand Cup 2026 is seen as a continuation of his rising trajectory in Indian football, with fans and supporters hopeful that his journey will one day lead him to represent India at the international stage.
