Marking a major milestone for higher education in Nagaland, Kohima Science College (Autonomous), Jotsoma (KSCJ), officially launched the pioneering ‘KSCJ App’ on March 16 during a special programme graced by Chancellor of Nagaland University Dr. Samudra Gupta Kashyap.
Developed by college alumnus and software engineer Rishav Sethi, the ‘KSCJ App’ is designed to streamline information dissemination, event management, and report generation for the institution. It is the first-ever mobile application customized for a higher educational institution in Nagaland, signalling a new era of digital innovation in the state’s academic sector.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Kashyap spoke of the historic bonds between the Naga and Assamese communities and emphasized the immense potential of the region’s indigenous youth. He urged faculty members and students to embrace the evolving landscape of higher education, especially in light of the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in Nagaland. Dr. Kashyap further called on the academic community to explore regional employment opportunities and actively contribute to the realization of the visions of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Viksit North-East.’
Adding to the occasion, Dr. Tapati Baruah Kashyap shared valuable perspectives on literary pursuits and the future of academic writing, encouraging young scholars to deepen their engagement with research and creative expression.
The programme was chaired by coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Dr. Lilongchem Thyug. A warm welcome address was delivered by KSCJ Principal Dr. Temjenwabang, while Dean and Professor at KSCJ, Dr. Limatemjen, proposed the vote of thanks.
The event witnessed the participation of over 100 attendees, including faculty members, students, and alumni.
