Nagaland’s Lily Hashnu wins gold forIndia at South Asian Bodybuilding C’ship

KOHIMA, JUL 4 (NPN): Nagaland athlete Lily Hashnu won the gold medal in the Women’s Model Physique (Below 155 cm) category while representing India at the 16th South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships 2026, held in Thimphu, Bhutan, from June 30 to July 4.
Competing against athletes from several South Asian nations, Lily also participated in the Women’s Swimsuit Open category, where she finished fifth.
Her gold medal is a significant achievement for both India and Nagaland, highlighting the growing presence of athletes from the state in international bodybuilding and physique sports. Another Nagaland athlete, Keneilelie Sorü, also represented India at the championship in the Men’s Athletic Physique category. His participation reflected the increasing standard and competitiveness of Nagaland’s bodybuilders on the international stage.
The Nagaland Body Building & Fitness Association congratulated Lily on her gold medal-winning performance and commended both athletes for representing India and Nagaland with dedication and sportsmanship. The association also acknowledged the contributions of coaches, officials, supporters, well-wishers and members of the sporting fraternity for their role in the athletes’ success.
