Nagaland’s sovereignty non-negotiable: NNC

DIMAPUR, NOV 30 (NPN)

The Naga National Council (NNC) on Sunday issued a detailed statement reaffirming Nagaland’s status as a sovereign country and condemning the ongoing occupation by India and Myanmar.

The Council noted that Nagas unilaterally declared independence on August 14, 1947, a day before India, and ratified it through a voluntary plebiscite in 1951 with a 99.9% mandate.
