Nagas have a common dream anda shared responsibility: MLA Azo

Dimapur

MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu on Thursday said that Nagas have a common dream and a shared responsibility to come together as one entity. Gracing the 21st Veikhang Katamnao Long general conference- cum- sports, cultural & literary meet 2026 on January 22 at Ukhrul in Manipur, he said that the South Nagas & Nagas of the mainland need to have a better and cordial relationship.
“Our emotional integration itself is not enough and it is not serving its main purpose of a greater Nagaland,” he said adding, “We must also encourage physical & spiritual integration.”
“We must also commit our plans to the Lord first, then only we can achieve our target or goal as clearly stated in Proverbs 16: 3 -Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans, ” he added. He lamented that “we are too much depending on our strength and dominance over one another.”
He good legacy that people leave behind is more important than what position or status the hold today, because position or status are temporary and it will go away anytime and will soon be forgotten. However, a good legacy will live and remembered forever even after our death, he said.
He challenged the congregation to leave a legacy behind which will be loved, remembered and cherished.
Azo also encouraged the national workers to live up to the expectations of the general public by trying to come together under one umbrella as one Group, One voice and One tax.
He also stated the Political Affairs Committee headed by Nagaland’s Chief Minister Dr Niephiu Rio has taken a decision on January 17, 2026 that it will put a more honest approach towards the Naga political issue and try to bring it to a logical conclusion “if the National workers cooperate and are willing.”
