S. Toiho Yepthomi, MLA, called upon the Nagas to do away with all forms of “ism” from the society in order to grow together, create peace atmosphere and move along with the rest of the country.
A press release by Western Sümi Youth Front (WSYF) media cell stated that Toiho was addressing the general conference of WSYF held under the theme, “Envisioning Beyond”, Tuesday at Ikishe Village Baptist Church, as the chief guest.
“We, Nagas as a diverse society must first remove ism from our society so that we all grow together,” said Toiho.
He said Nagas must work together as a society, create a peaceful atmosphere amongst the people and stand united for the Naga society to move forward along with the rest of the country.
The MLA also encouraged the former and present WSYF executive members to stand united in every aspect of life. He said in order to envision their future they must first introspect and retrospect.
He said, “As a human being we all must first examine our own heart and life first. Judge ourselves first and be merciful with others.”
Toiho said the world would be a much better place if all worked on their own flaws and weaknesses, and instead of judging others too harshly, they should all be a little more gracious towards one another.
Exhorting the youths, Toiho said there was no shortcut in life and in order to achieve something and be successful in life one must work hard with determination and prayer. He encouraged the youths to always put God first in every aspect of life.
