Advisor to chief minister, Nuklutoshi, has cautioned that future of the Naga people would be disastrous if the Naga issue was not resolved on time.
Speaking to media persons at his official residence here on Wednesday, Nuklutoshi stressed the urgent need for the Naga people to have a “common platform”, which he said was missing at present. He said unless such arrangement was made, it would difficult to address the prevailing issue. Further, Nuklutoshi said that Nagas were at the crossroads and their future is doomed if the present trend was not checked.
“Elder people should know what would be the situation that their children would face in the near future,” said Nuklutoshi.
At the same time, he said the younger and upcoming generations should also be aware of the kind of situation they would face. “All these uncertain future has been looming large and that is the reason why we are concerned for our people and especially the younger generations,” he said.
The former minister (National Highways) lamented that Nagas societies were divided in all fronts including NPGs, civil society organizations, student bodies and others.
Therefore, he said the need of the hour was to provide a ‘common platform’ to lead the Nagas in finding a lasting and permanent solution to the Naga political issue.
Accusing the government of India of playing the politics of divide and rule policy with regard to Naga issue by giving false promises to some sections of people, Nuklutoshi said time has come for the Nagas to act and speak the truth.
