NASU holds annual session at Yeveto

Niuland Area Student’s Union conducted its 22nd annual session at Yeveto village on the theme “Envisioning Excellence” December 26 to 28 with parliamentary secretary for irrigation & flood Control (I&FC) & election Y. Vikheho Swu as chief guest.
Speaking at the session, parliamentary secretary pointed out that Nagaland has a fertile land, adding that “we should know how to utilize it”. He also advised the gathering not to forget “our” culture and treasure it.
Further, he said that construction of roads and buildings were not only development but what comes out from within was the real development. Swu encouraged the Sümi community to cherish the works of their forefathers.
Stressing that one should work in order to survive, he said “if we don’t then there will be a day when we have to go and steal for our survival.”
Also, stating that the “we are living in a competitive world”, Swu said without education we can never compete, adding that it was “time to educate ourselves and be the change.”
Parliamentary secretary I&FC while reminding that “we have a fertile land” asserted that one should know how to utilize it.
