NASU hosts Suolahie Theünuo Memorial Volleyball Trophy 2026

DIMAPUR, MAR 1 (NPN):

The Northern Angami Students Union (NASU) organized the Suolahie Theünuo Memorial Volleyball Trophy 2026 on February 28 at the Rüsoma local ground. The annual event is held in remembrance of NASU’s first president, Lt. Suolahie Theünuo of Nerhema Village, under the theme “Unity Through Sports.”
In the women’s category, Seiyhama Students Union emerged as the champion while Tsiesema Students Union was the runners-up. Semi-finalists are Kohima Village Students Union and Chiechama Students Union.
In the men’s category, Tsiesema Students Union emerged as the champion while Chiechama Students Union secured the runners-up. Semi-finalists: Gariphema Students Union and Rüsoma Students Union.
In the individual awards, Best Player (Women’s) was bagged by Keneingunuo Dzüvichü of Tsiesema Students Union while Best Player (Men’s) was secured by Visakholie Rüpreo of Chiechama Students Union
The tournament brought together students from across the Northern Angami region, reinforcing the spirit of unity and sportsmanship while honoring the legacy of Lt. Suolahie Theünuo.
The programme was graced by president of the Northern Angami Public Organisation, Pelesielie Khezhie, as the special guest and NASU senior, Thejao Chase as the guest of honour. The oath-taking ceremony was led by games and sports secretary, Sakuolie Metha, followed by the ceremonial kick off by the guest speaker.
