Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE), Kohima observed “National Science Day” on February 29 under the theme, “Make in India Science and Technology Driven Innovation”.
On the occasion, vice principal, D. Sinha enlightened the life history of C V Raman and encouraged the student and teachers to possess scientific attitude.
Short speech was also delivered by Dr. H.P. Singh, special guest and principal, Modern College, where he emphasized on the importance of Science and its impact in the 21st century. The programme concluded with science quiz competition conducted by Ecological Club.
St. John College: St. John College science club celebrated national science day on February 27, under the theme “To raise public appreciation of scientific issues for the development of the nation” by organizing a science exhibition in the college campus. The programme highlighted model presentations, specimen presentations and portrait presentations of various Indian scientists.
Earlier a welcome speech was delivered by college principal, Dr. J. Meren Ao. A speech on science was also delivered by assistant professor department of Zoology, Dr. Puhar Diamary.
