National seminar on child rights and protection

Two-day national seminar “Child Rights and Protection: Acts, Issues and Challenges” was organised by department of education, Unity College in collaboration with CHILDLINE 1098 Dimapur on October 24-25.

At the seminar, keynote speaker, nodal director, CHILDLINE 1098, Nagaland and Governing Board Member CHILDLINE India Foundation, Subonenba Longkumer, encouraged the young scholars and students to look through one’s own perspective and bring one’s originality by writing books on the issue.

Assistant professor (department of education) Unity College, Azungla Imsong, gave the Convenor’s address, introduced the participants of the seminar and also highlighted on the aims, objectives, needs and significance of child rights and protection. 

Assistant professor (Department of Political Science) Yingli College, Longleng, Dr. Toli Achumi, chaired the first technical session.  On day two, keynote speaker, director, Prodigals’ Home/Collab director CHILDLINE Dimapur, K. Ela, highlighted the issues of child rights. 

Day-two panel chair technical session was led by assistant professor, School of Social Work Centre of Counseling, TISS, Guwahati, Meghali Senapati. Valedictory programme was chaired by assistant professor, Dr. Temjenwabang.
