
Advisor school education, KT Sukhalu felicitated head teacher GMS Jakhama, Swedesunuo Zao, recipient of the National Awards to Teachers (NAT) 2021, in the Morung conference hall of the directorate of school education on September 18.
According to a DIPR report, principal director school education Shanavas in his opening speech informed that the award was to be presented by president of India however, due to the pandemic, the awardee could not travel to Delhi.
Congratulating Swedesunuo for her achievement, guest of honour, KT Sukhalu informed that the department would be making arrangements for the awardee to travel to every district of Nagaland to interact with students and teachers.
He said that he had been observing the surplus enrollment of teachers, however, the enrollment of students was going down.
In this regard, he felt the need to encourage parents and students that government schools were second to none.
In her speech, Swedesunuo acknowledged the department for organising the programme and thanked all her staff for supporting her to reach this far and assured that with this national award she would work with more dedication and sincerity in the days to come.
Special secretary to the government of Nagaland Department of School Education (DoSE) and SCERT, Kevileno Angami congratulated Swedesunuo Zao for bringing an honour to the department.
She said that despite all the challenges she had achieved the award through motivation, commitment, dedication and sincerity.
