District Election department Peren celebrated the 6th National Voters Day 2016 along with the rest of the country on January 25, with additional deputy commissioner & ERO, Peren as the special guest at the function held at DC’s conference hall.
ADC while congratulating the winners of various competitions also lauded the hard work of BLOs in the district, as well as the campus ambassadors for their effective role in participation and awareness about electoral process in respective schools and colleges. Keynote address was delivered by EAC (Sardar) Tsidi Hairang, wherein he reminded the gathering about the need to clean up the electoral roll, as a follow up to NERPAP programme and special revision which was held in 2015. The programme was chaired by AEO Peren, Nathan Konyak and invocation prayer delivered by pastor ZBC Peren, Lungrai. A special number “one voice one vote” was presented by former district icon SVEEP, Namnahe. National voters day was attended by various political parties, NGOs, students, booth level officers from the district. Various awards for winners in district level essay competition, painting competition and best BLO 2015 were given away on the occasion.
