
National Youth Week was observed at Youth Hostel, Dimapur by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Dimapur, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India in collaboration with Young People’s Fellowship on January 12.
A press release issued by NYK Dimapur stated that UNV-district youth co-ordinator, NYK, Dimapur, K. Phyobemo Lotha in his keynote address welcomed all the participants and also delivered a speech on the life of Swami Vivekananda.
The resource person of the panel discussion were Lichumthung Kikon, assistant professor Dimapur Government College and Emilo Ngullie, lecturer, NLBC, Dimapur. Kikon dwelt on the topic “Youth for the nation building” where he said that the success of the nation depended on the quality of its youth. Stating that the role of youth was very crucial, he encouraged the young participants do everything they do wholeheartedly.
Emilo Ngullie, spoke on the topic “Good values of life” and discussed how young people could contribute their positive abilities to the society and nation building.
Earlier, a special song was presented by Waithadu Mariam in the program moderated by Rhonjanthung Yanthan. Sports materials were also distributed among the youth clubs.
The program was attended by youth club members, national youth volunteers, youth leaders, and the NSS program officer.
