Nationwide ‘Ayushman Bhavan’ heath campaign launched in Nagaland

A nationwide campaign ‘Ayushman Bhavan’, initiated by the Health Ministry, with an objective to provide saturation coverage of healthcare services in every village and town in the country, was launched across Nagaland on September 13.


The launching programme held at NHAK Kohima, was graced by ADC, Kohima, Rhosietho Nguori.
A DIPR report informed that ADC in his speech stressed on the importance of health issues noting that health was more than wealth.

He also mentioned the need for a collective approach to propagate and spread the message of health issues and its relation with diet and a balanced lifestyle.
Nguori further called upon all the stakeholders, Churches and NGO’s to reach the campaign to everyone and to the remotest part of the state.


Chairperson and MD, NHAK Dr. Sendimeren Aonok highlighted the scheme of Ayushman Bhavan. He said the campaign aims to ensure optimum delivery of health schemes to intended beneficiaries, especially in remote areas and for people belonging to economically weaker sections. He added that, there were three major components of the Ayushman Bhava campaign: the distribution of Ayushman cards or “Ayushman Apke Dwar 3.0,” a health campaign “Ayushman Mela,” and awareness meetings “Ayushman Sabha.” These programmes were aimed to enhance healthcare accessibility and raise health awareness across the nation.


Dr. Imnapokim and Dr. Avila Sangtam also spoke at the inaugural programme where they stressed on the need for creating awareness and importance of maintaining healthy lifestyle.
In the programme, NHAK also felicitated professor Kavitoli from Mount Olive college who has been donating her blood for the ninth time and still intending to donate more. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by MS, NHAK, Dr. Margaret Yhome.


PHEK: In Phek, the campaign was officially launched by DC Phek, Kuko Mero at Dr.Wethselo T.Mero Memorial hall, DH Phek.
Various activities which will be carried out during the campaign in all the CHCs and Health and wellness centres were highlighted by DPO RCH/UIP Dr.Pewezo Khalo. At the launching program a short briefing on Nikshay Mitra was presented by DTO Dr Chukhusie and acknowledgement of highest Nikshay Mitra supporter was awarded to Kuzholuzo Azo Nienu MLA. The programme was attended by DPOs, ward chairmen, NGOs, doctors, nurses and staff of CMO & DH.


MOKOKCHUNG: DC Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar launched ‘Ayushman Bhavah’ at the conference hall of office of the Chief Medical Officer Mokokchung in the presence of medical officers, staffs of CMO, Church Members, line departments and Civil societies.


A press release from NRHM, Mokokchung district programme management unit stated that Ajit Kumar in his speech highlighted the “Ayushman Bhavah” campaign. The campaign will run for a fortnight from September 17 to October 2, during which several health activities will be carried out.
At the launching programme certificates of appreciation were handed to all Nikshay Mitras. It may be noted that there are 36 Nikshay Mitra registered in the district and were supporting 120 TB patients by providing nutritional supplements every month.


ZUNHEBOTO: District Health Society Zunheboto unveiled the Ayushman Bhavah campaign at the District Hospital conference hall in Zunheboto.
The campaign, aiming to enhance awareness about various health care schemes and boost critical health care services, was launched by Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali.


In his address, Mali elaborated on the prime components of the campaign: Ayushman Apke Dwar 3.0 – An endeavor to distribute Ayushman cards to all remaining eligible beneficiaries under the PM-JAY Scheme, ensuring comprehensive coverage.


The goal was to spread the word about an array of health care schemes and services, from Ayushman cards and ABHA IDs to identification of TB patients and immunization.


Dy. CMO Zunheboto, Dr. K. Akaho Sema delivering keynote address, mentioned that the Ayushman Bhavah campaign will officially commence on September 17.
The event was followed by an organ donation pledge, led by DPO (UIP & RCH),Dr. Heto Swu.


DIMAPUR: Along with the rest of the country, Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, , Sachin Jaiswal, launched Ayushman Bhavah at District Hospital Dimapur on September 13.
At the launching programme, Jaiswal emphasized that Ayushman Bhavah, which translates to a blessing of health and overall wellness, was not a new scheme but a rejuvenation of existing health programs. He highlighted the pressing need for blood donations due to a surge in dengue cases in the district. Jaiswal hailed regular blood donors as “living legends and heroes” and underscored organ donation as a key component of the initiative.
Seeking the support of allied departments and civil societies, Jaiswal led the “Organ Donation Pledge” at the ceremony.


Dy. Chief Medical Officer Dimapur, Dr. Antoly Suu, presented the keynotes on Ayushman Bhavah.
The programme was chaired by Medical Superintendent, DH Dimapur, Dr.Khrielasanuo Metha, and attended by doctors and nurses under District hospital, students of School of Nursing and staffs under CMO Dimapur, allied departments such as School Education, Social Welfare, DMC, and Civil societies.


MON: Deputy commissioner, Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma launched the campaign at DH Mon.
Delivering the inaugural address, Deputy Commissioner, said that the word Ayushman Bhavah means “live long”.
Illustrating on the meaning, he said that the programme was all about reminding to live healthy lifestyle.
He also briefly highlighted on the Ayushman Bharat schemes and the performance of the district and appreciated the government of India for taking various supportive steps under the health care sector.


Dr Tinenlo James Katiwa DTO, Mon in his keynote address gave a detail on the three major components of various health care schemes under the campaign. On behalf of the district TB cell, Dr Tinenlo acknowledged the best Nikshay Mitra P Wangngam Konyak for his support to TB patients.
Meanwhile, a pledge was taken by all the participants on organ donation.


The programme was chaired by CMO and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Wungyong Konyak (UIP&RCH). The programme was attended by medical authorities, administration, social welfare department, Konyak Union, KNSK- women group, Konyak Student Union, Prathima foundation and representatives of the wards of Mon town.
