Nationwide sanitation campaign launched in Mon

Joining the rest of the country, “nationwide sanitation campaign” was launched, Tuesday at Mon by ADC Mon, M.A Shihab at Council hall Mon Town. 
Speaking at the launching programme, Shihab appealed the gathering to maintain civic sense so as to live in a clean and healthy environment.
He said one must build good habit of cleaning one’s mind, body and surrounding to have a clean and green environment free from diseases.
Asserting that cleanliness is not only a “matter of instinct but also a matter of education”, he asked the gathering to educate and create awareness about sanitation to public. 
Briefing on the mission “I love my Mon town”, he said the district administration has taken the initiative to transform Mon town into community driven, totally sanitized, healthy and a liveable place.  He urged the students and teachers to extend full cooperation and support to the mission to achieve its target. 
S. Aochuba Longchar (Sani & Hygn Consultant) gave a presentation on sanitation, keynote address was delivered by, EE, PHED, Mon Er. Leyang Khiamniungan and invocation by I. Thongpang Fellowship Pastor, New site, Mon.  The program concluded with vote of thanks byWatinaro (Chemist) followed by rally from venue to local football ground. 
The programme was organized by Water & Sanitation Support Organization (WSSO) of PHED Mon Division and sponsored by W.S.S.O. (PHED) Kohima, Nagaland. Students and teachers of various schools under Mon participated in the function.
