NavSahyog Foundation, a Bangalore based NGO working in 20 villages under Dhansiripar circle, Dimapur launched Prakriti Prem (Love for Nature) and planted 515 fruit trees, namely, Papaya, Guava and Banana in 17 villages by the Foundation’s children on October 19.
It may be noted that Prakriti Prem is a core program under experiential learning of NavSahyog Foundation. The theme of the experiential learning was to teach children about environment and climate change.
Prakriti Prem is a year-long program and under this program, children will be taught to name their plant and talk to the plant for a minute every day.
The foundation informed that the programme will help them develop a bond with nature by nurturing their plants to grow into a tree. Under the programme, a competition would be held among villages across clusters where the children will grow their fruit trees in collaboration with each other, their parents and community farmers.
