Northern Angami Women Organisation (NAWO) held its executive conference and change of guard at NAWO hall, PWD junction, here on Saturday. At the conference new NAWO office bearers were also inducted and change of guard was also effected. Four presidents of NAWO units group A, B, C and D shared their views.
In her sharing, president of group A, Khrieneinuo, highlighted on the need to take proper care of traditional attires and pass it on to children.
She suggested that mothers should try to produce their own traditional attires instead of buying finished products from others. She strongly suggested that mothers should teach traditional weaving to their children in order to pass on the knowledge from the present to the future generations.
She observed that when people put on their traditional attires in the proper way mothers get the credit for it. Apart from traditional crafts and heritages, she strongly suggested that parents’ mothers should teach their children how to cook, perform household chores etc and not be entirely dependent on others to help them.
Group D president, Kehoukhrieü Rio, suggested that families should also clean their surroundings. Apart from keeping one’s home, she said mothers should usher in making their family lead good and healthy lives not just at home but even in one’s villages and towns.
In a short speech incoming president, Kediseü Keditsu, assured that she would do her best for the organisation. She thanked the outgoing team for successfully carrying the organisation to new heights during their tenure.
