NAYO appeals citizens, youth bodies to stay vigilant

DIMAPUR, JUL 28 (NPN)

Taking serious note of potential impact on the safety, demographic stability and rights of the people due to influx thousands of immigrants, the Northern Angami Youth Organisation (NAYO) has appealed to all the citizens and youth bodies under Northern Angami jurisdiction to stay vigilant.
In a press release, NAYO president Khriesazo Liezietsu and general secretary Neimezo Huozha advised all the citizens and every youth body in villages and towns under Northern Angami jurisdiction to remain alert and monitor the movement or presence of any illegal immigrants. NAYO informed that any suspicious activity or unauthorised settlement should be reported immediately to the district administration, police or NAYO office bearers.
NAYO also advised house owners, landlords, contractors and business establishments not to provide accommodation, shelter or employment to individuals without valid documentation. It stated that verifying ILP and government-issued identity documents of tenants, domestic workers and labourers was mandatory.
Further, the youth body urged all citizens and youth bodies to fully cooperate with the administration in handling the issue. NAYO asked all responsible to support government verification drives and border surveillance efforts, and assist officials in maintaining order and security. Calling for strict adherence to legal procedures, NAYO said all actions must be grounded in law and respect for human dignity.
NAYO also affirmed its commitment to protect the rights and future of the Northern Angami people.
