Northern Angami Youth Organisation (NAYO) has expressed concern over the dumping of soil along the stretch of National Highway (NH-2), from Kohima to Botsa which was causing water logging and appealed to the responsible department to look into the matter immediately for the safety of the citizens.
In a press release, Northern Angami Youth Organisation president Roko Angami and press secretary Nelie Zumu stated that although it was the “exclusive rights of landowners along the National Highway to undertake any works on the roadside”, it said that such actions should do not affect travellers/motorists plying on the road.
Northern Angami Youth Organisation pointed out that with the onset of monsoon, the dumping of soil on the roadside of national highway was leading to water logging on the road which made travelling “dangerous and unpleasant.”
