NBA holds legal awareness programs

Continuing its yearlong Golden Jubilee celebrations, the Nagaland Bar Association (NBA) organised a legal awareness program in Kiphire on March 28 at the Hopongkyu Memorial Hall. A similar program was held in Phek the next day at the Town Council Hall.

NBA secretary V. Hukavi Zhimomi, in a press release stated that the programs were attended by the DCs, GBs, Dobashis, student leaders and community members in both districts with resource persons speaking on various topics such as role of GBs, DBs and Village Councils, judicial institutions and various welfare schemes and legal support systems available for the public.
According to the press release, with the first of these programs being flagged off in Peren, the NBA plans to continue its year-long campaign in all districts as part of its jubilee celebrations. These programs are being organised in collaboration with the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) which has extended its support through logistics and other resources.
