NBC Kohima golden jubilee celebration begins

Kohima, Jul 31 (NPN): Nepali Baptist Church (NBC), Kohima on Friday commenced its Golden Jubilee celebration at its church premises in Midland, Kohima under the theme “And Forget Not All His Benefits.”
As part of the inaugural programme, a commemorative monolith marking the church’s 50th anniversary was dedicated by Rev. Dr. K. Santabir Rai, executive secretary, AGBCN.
The monolith dedication programme was chaired by Narayan Bahadur, convener of the Monolith Committee and co convener of the Organising Committee. Following the dedication, Rev. Dr. K. Santabir Rai delivered the jubilee sermon, reflecting on God’s faithfulness and urging believers to remain grateful for His blessings in keeping with the jubilee theme.
The celebration also featured a Jubilee Lamp Lighting Ceremony. The first sermon was chaired by Narayan Bahadur and began with an invocation by Gagan Thapa, advisor of the Organising Committee. Scripture readings were done by Nandu Kumar Thapa in Nepali and Rekha Thapa in English.
John Thakuri, convener of the Souvenir Committee, introduced the Golden Jubilee souvenir, which was formally released by Jack Thapa, pastor of NBC Kohima. Greetings were conveyed by Khyomo Lotha, while special musical presentations were offered by the Jubilee Choir and Nepali Baptist Church, Sechü Zubza.
The inaugural programme concluded with a benediction pronounced by C.B. Gurung, advisor of the Organising Committee.
