The 20th triennial convention of Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) on the theme ‘In step with the Spirit’ began Thursday evening at Mission Centre, Mon town.
Over 5000 delegates from 116 churches and nine fellowships under KBBB, Mon, including national and international delegates are attending the convention. Konyak Konyak Baptist Church Association (KBBB) is hosting the event.
In his address to the congregation on the topic, Rev. Dr. Solomon Rongpi, has highlighted on the works of the Holy Spirit and the nature of the church.
According to Dr. Solomon, Holy Spirit brings people to repentance and guide them to the right direction.
“Holy spirit is a counselor, it inspire and empowered the believers to do the work of the Christ”, he stated.
Briefing on the nature of the church, he said the church is a kingdom of God on earth and pointed out the four essential functions of the church- worship, fellowship, discipleship and mission. Earlier, the convention began with the opening spotlight by Konjong Higher Secondary School Mon. Introduction and adoption of the programme was conducted by general secretary NBCC, Rev Dr. L Anjo Keikung, while the executive secretary KBBB, Chemyuh Konyak welcomed the delegates.
President of Konyak Union, Manlip, delivered the greetings followed by Quartet by Oriental Theological Seminar, Bade. The opening service was led by the Associate pastor of Kohima Ao Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Toshi Langu.
