NBCC mourns demise of Niketu

DIMAPUR: Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) has mourned the demise of Niketu Iralu, describing him as one of the distinguished elder statesmen and moral voices of Naga society.
In a condolence message, NBCC general secretary, Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener, said Iralu was a man of uncommon wisdom, intellectual depth and unwavering moral conviction, who throughout his life remained a steadfast advocate of non violence, reconciliation, dialogue, justice and peace. His voice, it noted, sought not to inflame divisions but to illumine a path towards understanding, healing and coexistence.
NBCC recalled his active engagement with the NBCC Peace Mission, where his counsel and interventions enriched conversations and strengthened the pursuit of peace and reconciliation. His reflections, marked by intellectual rigor and moral imagination, often challenged society to look beyond immediate concerns and discern the larger human dimensions of the collective journey. Extending condolences and solidarity to the bereaved family, relatives, friends and colleagues, NBCC prayed that the values he upheld-peace, reconciliation, truth, justice and human dignity-would continue to inspire generations to come.
