Secretary & Team Leader, T. Mhabemo Yanthan, along with team members of Nagaland Beekeeping & Honey Mission (NBHM), from April 4 to 7 conducted a 4-day field visit to Mokokchung, Longleng, Mon and Tuensang districts to monitor and evaluate the scenario of Beekeeping in project areas and also to assess the feasibility of creating and developing a sustainable marketing strategy of honey by providing essential technical and promotional services for beekeepers throughout the State.
A press release stated that during the tour, the secretary & team leader also inaugurated a Common Facility Centre (CFC) at Yangching (Longleng), Wangshu (Mon) and Konya (Tuensang) constructed under NEC scheme during 2016-17.
It may be noted that the main purpose of creating these CFCs was to serve as a honey outlet point with a facility for collection, home-scale processing, storage, bottling/packaging to ensure quality standards and increase market value of honey in the village.
