NCC cadets conduct ‘plantation drive’

A “tree plantation drive” was conducted by NCC Cadets of 24 Nagaland (I) Coy NCC Kohima under the aegis of Group headquarter NCC Kohima  Friday at Kigwema Government High School premises.

A press release by NCC Kohima stated that cadets of junior division (boys & girls), Associated NCC officers and instructors of the Army participated in the drive. 

The release informed that a “large number” of medicinal and ornamental plants were planted by the cadets and that the importance of trees in maintaining the delicate environmental balance was explained to the cadets. 

The cadets were also encouraged to plant at least one tree on their birthday as a token of their gratitude to Mother Nature, informed the release.
