NCC cadets pick up fire fighting skills

Around 400 NCC cadets were imparted with practical classes in fire fighting by personnel of Fire Brigade, Dimapur during the two-day annual training camp of the 24 Nagaland (Indep) Company NCC at Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, which concluded on July 24.
A press release from 24 Nagaland (Indep) company NCC, said that camp commandant, annual training camp, lt col. Vivek Shukla, informed that the cadets were acquainted with causes of fire and prevention. 
The cadets were also given hands on experience on handling fire fighting equipments brought by the Fire Brigade. Personnel of fire brigade also gave demonstration on various drills during the awareness session. “The cadets were amused to see the equipment in action and volunteered in large numbers to handle all by themselves”, the release added.
The camp commandant expressed satisfaction and said that the NCC cadets have been adequately empowered to tackle situations of disaster in terms of earthquake, fire and floods. 
NCC cadets would be able to assist the community as first responders and civil administration in times of crisis. The training camp was held under the aegis of NCC group Hq, Kohima.
