On the occasion of the platinum jubilee celebrations of National Cadet Corps (NCC), coinciding with “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, NCC group headquarters in Nagaland celebrated the day by conducting number of activities on November 26-27.
A press release by Press Information Bureau (Defence Wing) informed that 25 Nagaland Battalion NCC Mokokchung, 1 Nagaland Girls NCC Batallion, Kohima, 24 (Independent) Naga Boys company, Kohima and 1 Nagaland NCC Air Squadron, Dimapur organised blood donation camps and cultural events at respective locations along with the District Hospitals. A large number of officials and cadets donated blood at the camp.
The blood donation camp was conducted at Naga Hospital, Kohima and District Hospital Dimapur in co-ordination with District Hospital, Dimapur and Naga Hospital, Kohima.
A blood donation camp was also organised by 25 Naga battalion National Cadet Corps (NCC) on November 26 at District Hospital, Mokokchung. The cadets of senior division and senior wing of NCC from Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung along with PI staff donated blood.
Speaking on the occasion, CO, 25 Naga Bn NCC, Col CST Swamy said that NCC being the largest youth organisation in the country, was engaged in various social initiatives like blood donation, “Puneet Sagar Abhiyan” (cleaning up of water bodies), environmental awareness and Covid awareness.
The event was presided by Mokokchung District Voluntary Blood Donors Association, president, Molo and the arrangements were made by the medical team headed by Dr HT Sangtam of District Hospital, Mokokchung, who also distributed the certificates and blood donor badges to the donors.
25 Naga Bn NCC, Mokokchung also organised a colourful event at their office on November 27. The cadets of senior division, senior wing, junior division and junior wing of NCC from Fazl Ali College and Dilong High School, Mokokchung.
The event started with the NCC group song which was sung by all attendees with patriotic fervour.
During his address, the commanding officer explained the genesis of NCC.
During the event, the cadets were informed of the various employment opportunities that are available for NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders especially in the Indian armed forces, paramilitary and CAPF including the latest Agnipath scheme and the combined defence services examination.
