Nagaland Community Conserved Areas Forum (NCCAF) in collaboration with FES & NEPED will be organising a photography and drawing competition on account of World Environment Day (WED) 2021 on the category selfie photo and drawing.
A press release from NCCAF secretary Tehomeli Phom informed that participants will take selfie pictures with nature and drawing on conservation of nature on the theme “what they see in the forest and what they want to see in the forest”.
All the registered Community Conserved Areas (CCAs) have been requested to conduct the programme at their respective CCA area and send the participant’s presentation along with their details.
The results would be declared during its virtual conference on WED 2021. For more information, may follow up information and guidelines shared in NCCAF WhatsApp group or contact any of the office bearers.
The forum has also requested all the Churches across Nagaland to share the importance of conservation on June 6 in their sermon on account of the WED 2021.
DC Noklak: DC Noklak informed that WED 2021 would be commemorated only by organising online programmes through virtual means by forest department.
In this regard, the DC has informed that no mass plantation drive would be undertaken at Noklak headquarters in view of the existing lockdown and prevailing Covid situation.
Further, the DC has informed that distribution of saplings by forest department would be done through the police department and Assam Riffles while plantation drive would be conducted only at a later stage depending on the COVID-19 situation in the district.
