NCD launches cleanliness campaign

DIMAPUR, APR 8 (NPN):

Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has appealed to all shopkeepers in Dimapur city to maintain cleanliness in front of their establishments with effect from April 15, 2026, under the banner of “Dimapur City Cleanliness Campaign”.
In a press release, NCD president GK Rengma and general secretary LK Peter Anal said that the council had been receiving numerous complaints from citizens to pressurise Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) and Dimapur district administration for maintenance of streets and the market roads in Dimapur city.
Despite the formation of DMC, the council expressed disappointment that the city’s overall cleanliness has not shown any significant improvement and continued to remain the same as before.
Therefore, NCD said it was constrained to launch the cleanliness campaign to address the issue.
Under its cleanliness campaign, NCD has urged all shopkeepers, especially those along commercial roads, to keep the road, footpath, and drains in front of their shops free from waste, mud, and dust on a daily basis.
NCD announced that it would closely monitor the situation and publicly issue remarks against defaulters.
NCD has appealed to all responsible to comply with this initiative for self-cleanliness management in the city.
