The Nagaland Conservatory of Music (NCM) formally launched its Music Associate Diploma Programme on May 29, during a solemn inauguration ceremony held at the Nagaland Conservatory of Music campus.
The event was attended by church leaders, educators, musicians, making the occasion a memorable and historic event for the institution and the music community of Nagaland.
The programme was officially inaugurated by general secretary, Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC), Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener, who lauded the college’s commitment to nurturing musical excellence and fostering holistic development among aspiring musicians in Nagaland and beyond.
Speaking at the programme, chairman, NCM said that the Music Associate Diploma was conceptualized to address the scarcity of qualified musicians to serve in churches and educational institutions.
The diploma programme will provide the students with a strong foundation in music performance, theory, musicianship, and professional ministry-oriented music education.
He stated that the programme aims to equip learners with practical skills, academic knowledge, artistic discipline, and leadership qualities necessary for careers in music, worship ministry, teaching, and related creative industries.
Earlier, the dedicatory prayer was pronounced by general secretary, Fellowship of Naga Baptist Associations (FNBA), Rev. Dr. H. Gideon.
