The Nagaland College Principals Association (NCPA) convened its half-yearly meeting at Kohima Science College, Jotsoma on Thursday, reaffirming its commitment to advancing the quality of higher education across the state.
In his presidential address, Dr. Vitsosie Vupru expressed gratitude to the host college and praised the active participation of all members, reiterating NCPA’s ongoing dedication to strengthening collegiate education in Nagaland.
Session I of the programme was chaired by principal of Kohima Science College, Dr. Temjenwabang. The meeting commenced with an invocation led by principal of St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama, Dr. Fr. George Keduolhou Angami.
Reports were presented by treasurer and principal of Unity College Dimapur, Dr. Lichumo Enie, followed by general secretary principal of Tetso College, Dr. Hewasa L. Khing.
The Nomination Committee, led by convenor Prof. Visakhonu Hibo, announced the new office bearers and executive members for the tenure August 2025 to July 2027.
The meeting transitioned into business hour, where participating principals discussed key issues affecting higher education, including examination protocols, evaluation standards, and student welfare initiatives.
NCPA comprises principals from government, private, and autonomous colleges in Nagaland, serving as a collaborative forum for engagement with Nagaland University, the state government, NGOs, and other stakeholders to enhance the academic ecosystem.
The newly elected NCPA office bearers will be led by principal Kohima Government College, Dr. Vitsosie Vupru as president; principal Tetso College, Dr. Hewasa L. Khing as general secretary with three members and seven executive members.
