A Mid-Career Training programme for 20 officers of the Nagaland Civil Service (NCS) with 5–7 years of experience is currently underway at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Kohima.
According to a DIPR report, the training, which began on July 31, will conclude on August 2, 2025.
During interactive sessions held on July 31 and August 1, Director General (DG) of ATI, V. Shashank Shekhar, engaged with the officer trainees, urging them to shift focus from problem identification to solution-oriented thinking.
He emphasized that the essence of civil service lies in improving the lives of the common man. The DG also appreciated the thoughtful suggestions put forth by the trainees.
Key recommendations emerging from the sessions included: enhancing connectivity to stimulate economic growth and employment; timely dissemination of government schemes for real-time citizen support; revamping the agriculture sector through crop insurance, value addition, productivity enhancement, and improved market linkages; providing occupational skills to the youth and local populace to boost livelihoods; instituting a rationalized human resource management policy with emphasis on quality capacity building; promoting inter-departmental convergence for efficient governance; setting up mini solar grids for improved power supply in underserved areas; upgrading health infrastructure and ensuring adequate healthcare professionals and concerns related to rural upliftment and safeguarding youth against substance abuse were also deliberated during the exchange.
The sessions were attended by ATI joint directors Er. N. Moa Longkumer and Kaholi Sema, Deputy director Imlibenla Jamir, lecturer Peter Konyak, and Training Course Coordinator and deputy secretary, Asalie Lese.
