
Nagaland Catholic Women Association (NCWA) is holding its 10th convention under the theme, “Women builders of bridge,” from January 18 to 20 at Mary Help of Christians Cathedral, Kohima.
A press release from NCWA media cell stated that the three-day convention began on Friday evening with an invocation prayer by Annie Kath, advisor NCWA. Rev. Deacon Dr. Sherman Kuek OFS from Malaysia was the speaker for the 1st session on Friday evening who dwelt on the topic, “Mystery of the Eucharist.”
Vilanuo Angela, president NCWA, in her presidential address, expressed happiness and thanked the delegates and guests for gracing the event.
Rev. Fr. Richard Fernandes, spiritual director NCWA, extended his greetings.
Earlier, Inaholi Mary, president Sumi Catholic Women Association (SCWA) read from the Holy Book. A welcome speech was given by Ahieno Janet, president Angami Catholic Women Association (ACWA).
A special number was presented by Lotha Catholic Women Association (LCWA) choir and the benediction was pronounced by Teresa Ezung, president of LCWA.
Rev. Sr. Mary Dukhru and Rev. Sr. Margaret Sekhose, MSMHC spoke during the 2nd and 3rd session respectively on Saturday.
On day-two, Angami Catholic Women Association, was the winner in the Choir Singing Competition. Pochury Catholic Women Association, Holy Cross Dimapur and Rengma Catholic Women Association bagged the second, third and fourth positions respectively.
Kaholi Lilly, vice president NCWA and Elsy Peter, president Catholic Women Association, Kiphiri Parish chaired the sessions; Mercy Konyak, secretary Konyak Catholic Women Association (KCWA) and Atipuei, president Zeliangrong Catholic Women Association (ZCW) read from the Word of God, and Kalanglu Regina, president Rongmei Catholic Women Association (RCWA) and Caroline Krome, president, Chakhesang Catholic Women Association (PCWA) said benedictions for different sessions. The convention will culminate on Sunday.
