The installation of office bearers for the NDPP 26 Aonglenden Assembly Constituency (A/C), along with its seven constituent units, was held at Arok Sapang, Ungma village on Monday.
Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker and elected representative of 26 A/C, Sharingain Longkumer, who attended the event, said the constituency was home to many capable leaders, with 374 individuals actively supporting the NDPP. He emphasized that developmental activities must follow proper procedures and that the A/C office would ensure transparency and accountability from the grassroots level.
He also shared plans to map out development policies aligned with the Central Government’s vision of “A Developed India 2042”. He said the constituency would focus on environmental initiatives and promote weaving practices. He expressed gratitude to the state agency for declaring Ungma as a ‘Banana Model Village’.
Earlier, short speeches were delivered by NDPP Nagaland working president N Bendang Jamir, senior vice president Mokokchung region Lipokzulu Lkr, and MMC chairperson Imkongchuba Pongen. The oath-taking was led by NDPP Mokokchung region president Repameren, with the welcome address by NDPP 26 A/C Nungsangmeren Lkr. Vote of thanks was proposed by vice-president Kikumsungba Jamir, while the program was chaired by general secretary M Sutsung Jamir. Invocation was offered by Alila, president of the Women Organisation, Ungma Unit.
