Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio, exuded confidence that both BJP and NDPP would win the assembly polls with thumping majority.
He was speaking to media persons after casting his vote, who was accompanied by his wife and family members on Monday at Tuophema Basa government middle school, Northern Angami II constituency.
To a query on the rise in poll related violence, Rio termed such incidents as, “unfortunate” and called upon all to follow ‘one man one vote’ policy.
He said violence would not resolve anything and apart from creating enmity, the negative impacts of such actions would stay on to torment the people.
When asked whether a post-poll alliance was likely with other parties, Rio said he was happy that everyone wanted to join the bandwagon. However, he said NDPP-BJP alliance was strong enough and that he was hopeful that the alliance would get absolute majority.
Meanwhile, according to HT report, Rio said that the atmosphere for final solution to the decades-old Naga political issue has become conducive and an end to it was expected soon.
