NDPP calls upon citizens to vote; NPF Mkg division appeals for peaceful elections

As the State prepares to go to Assembly election on Monday, NDPP has called upon all citizens to come forward and exercise their universal adult franchise and ensure that democracy was once again upheld. While the Naga People’s Front (NPF) Mokokchung Division reiterated on the call for clean election movement and appealed all to pray for peaceful conclusion of all electoral exercises.
NDPP: The party in a communiqué also appealed to all to adhere to Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and ensure that the polls were conducted in a free and fair manner and avoid resorting to violence and unscrupulous and illegal ways and means.
While wishing all candidates and political parties the very best, NDPP also prayed that democracy may once again be victorious in Nagaland.
CM: In a tweet, chief minister Neiphiu Rio also appealed to all eligible voters in Nagaland, especially those voting for the first time, to turnout in record numbers and cast their your vote on February 27.
“Be a contributor to the democratic process. I also extend my best wishes to all the candidates. May polling day be peaceful & successful,” Rio tweeted.
NPF Mokokchung Division: Addressing a press conference at the divisional office Mokokchung on February 24, president Farmer’s Wing NPF central, Lanukaba and general secretary (Admn) NPF Mokokchung division, Tangit Imsong have appealed to the churches and church workers to ceaselessly pray especially on the polling day so that malpractices during polling day be prevented through prayers. They also appealed to all presiding and polling officials to exercise their bounden duty for free and fair polls and called upon the law enforcement agencies to be impartial and uphold the rule of law. The NPF Mokokchung Division further appealed the electorates to exercise their right to vote in order to bring a change.
It also informed that three dynamic and young candidates of the party are contesting from Mokokchung district in the ensuing 14th NLA, namely, Moasangba from 25-Mongoya A/C, Major Toshikaba (Retd) from 28 Koridang A /C and Yimjungwati from 29 Jangpetkong AC.
Lanukaba said as Nagas yearn for change, they need change and that the Mokokchung Division NPF was hopeful that there will be change.
