The felicitation programme of NDPP councilors of Mokokchung Municipal Council, Tuli Town Council, Changtongya Town Council and Mangkolemba Town Council was held on July 3 at Hotel Jafu Kohima.
According to media cell NDPP Mokokchung region, delivering keynote address chief minister Neiphiu Rio highlighted the genesis of Urban Local Bodies (ULB) from early 2001 till the passing of the Municipal Act 2023 that facilitated the possibility of holding ULB election 2024. Rio therefore encouraged the councilors to shoulder the responsibility as it comes with the privilege.
Minister Metsubo Jamir in his welcome address thanked the chief minister for gracing the occasion and welcomed all the newly elected councilors and the dignitaries.
Minister Temjen Imna Along in his speech urged upon the PDA party workers to be more inclusive and share the views together with mutual understanding.
NDPP secretary general, Abu Metha stressed upon the party workers to uphold the party constitution and expounded that NDPP was a regional party in content and national in outlook with international aspirations.
The function was graced by NLA Speaker, Sharingain Longkumer and attended by advisors, chairman of various public undertaking departments and host of party workers from Mokokchung.
