Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), Mon Region, held its new office bearers installation programme for the 2024–2027 tenure at Mon Town on July 22.
The event witnessed participation from all 8th Assembly Constituency representatives, former MLAs, and leaders from CEB, CEC, CYO, and CWO. NDPP president and PDA chairman N. Chingwang Konyak was received by advisor Wangpang and MLA Mankhao Konyak.
The oath-taking ceremony was led by Wangham, Secretary (CEB), followed by a dedicatory prayer offered by District Chaplain Rev. Yeangphong. Advisor Wangpang Konyak encouraged party members to work with dedication, while general secretary Rebeka Wallim called for united efforts to strengthen the party.
NDPP Mon Region welcomed newly merged MLA Mankhao Konyak, increasing the region’s NDPP representation.
In his exhortation, NDPP president Chingwang urged office bearers to focus on grassroots organization, uphold party principles, and commit to giving back to the party rather than expecting benefits.
The newly appointed office bearers include: president- H. Shamlau Konyak; general secretary- H. Chat-ai Arolim; president, Youth Organisation-Naiwang Konyak; president, Women Organisation- Pauwau Konyak and president, Agriculture & Allied- Tonching.
Outgoing president Tingpai N reflected on the challenges faced during his term, while incoming president H. Shamlau Konyak expressed gratitude and pledged to serve with sincerity.
