DIMAPUR, SEP 12 (NPN)

Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP)’s Central Executive Board (CEB) meeting held at party’s central headquarters, Kohima on September 12, 2025 has welcomed the Naga People’s Front (NPF) Central Executive Council (CEC)’s formal appeal to chief minister Neiphiu Rio to rejoin the NPF and assume leadership of the party.
NDPP through its media & communication committee, however, said that since it was a political party registered and recognized by the Election Commission of India, the party needed to follow and fulfil all constitutional and democratic procedures mandated in NDPP Constitution.
The committee stated that the CEB has, therefore, decided to call a General Convention (GC) of the NDPP according to the prescribed constitutional provisions where the final decision of the party would be taken.
According to the committee, the house unanimously endorsed the president and the chief minister to take all necessary decisions in regards to the general convention.
