North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur, will host the North East Spring Festival 2026 (Festival of North East) from February 26 to 28, 2026, at the NEZCC Complex in Dimapur, Nagaland.
The festival is being organised in collaboration with the South-Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC), Nagpur, under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
According to a press release, The three-day event will be celebrated alongside the Madhya Dakshini Festival 2026, creating a vibrant cultural confluence between the North Eastern and South-Central regions of the country.
Cultural groups representing all eight North Eastern states will participate in the festival, showcasing diverse traditional art forms of the region. A total of 130 folk artistes from the North East are expected to take part in the celebrations.
In an effort to connect with younger audiences, prominent musical groups from the region will also perform during the festival. The lineup includes Blue Temptation (Shillong) and Coronation Choir (Dimapur) on February 26, followed by 6 Strings (Guwahati) and Bhramos (Kohima) on February 27, 2026.
The event will also witness participation from the South Central Zone under the Madhya Dakshini Festival 2026. As part of the cultural exchange, 83 artistes from SCZCC states will present traditional dance and music performances, further enriching the festival’s diverse cultural showcase.
The festival is being organised in coordination with programmes under Bharat Ko Jano and the Border Area Programme. Following the Dimapur event from February 26–28, extended programmes are scheduled to be held on March 2–3 in Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh, and March 5–6 in Ri-Bhoi, Meghalaya.
The festival is being led by Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee and director, NEZCC, Dimapur, Prashanna Gogoi, and director of SCZCC, Nagpur, Astha M. Karlekar.
