NE Zone inter CAPF debate competition on ‘human rights’ at ARTC&S Shokhuvi

A debate competition on “Human Rights” was held at Assam Rifles Training Centre and School (ARTC&S), Shokhuvi on Thursday, participated by seven CAPFs. According to PRO defence, the main aim of the debate was to sensitise the importance of strict adherence to human rights while dealing with the public.


Assam Rifles secured the 1st position and CISF secured 2nd position in English language debate category, while the Assam Rifles secured 1st position and CRPF secured 2nd position in the Hindi language category.
The best teams in both the English and Hindi categories namely Assam Rifles and CISF as well as CRPF have been selected to represent the North East Zone in the semi-finals of inter-CAPF debate competition.


A total of 28 speakers debated on the topic in Hindi and English with 14 speakers each ‘for’ and ‘against’ the motion. An update from the security forces stated that seven teams for NE based CAPFs namely BSF, CRPF, CISF, SSB, ITBP, RPF and Assam Rifles participated in the contest.


YSM, SM, Commandant, Assam Rifles Training Centre and School, brigadier Suresh Kumar Sheoran, appreciated the efforts put in by the participants and made a special reference to the efficient conduct of the event by the organisers and conveyed good wishes to prize winning teams for semi-final round of debate. He also conveyed his gratitude and appreciation to the five eminent judges for their valuable inputs and contribution.
