Near 7 hours traffic jam in Mon town

Denizens of Mon experienced a heavy traffic jam caused by the vehicles transporting polling personnel to various constituencies under Mon district on Monday.
The jam, which lasted from around 11:30 a.m till 6:15 p.m, also ensnared vehicles despatched to 47 A/C Aboi. The jam was caused by the numerous vehicles that had to form a queue to re-fuel before departing to their destinations.
Around 340 vehicles were dispatched to transport 1,164 (including IV grade staff) polling personnel to 194 polling stations, excluding the security forces. It may be mentioned that polling personnel for interior areas like 55 Tobu A/C and polling personnel of 11 polling stations under 48 Moka A/C were dispatched on Sunday, who have reportedly arrived at their destinations.
Around 1,37,231 eligible voters will be exercising their franchise in nine constituencies today to elect their representatives for Mon district.
