NEIDA and FPAI health camp in Kiphire

North East Initiative Development Agency (NEIDA) in collaboration with the Family Planning Association of India (FPAI), Nagaland Branch organized a sexual reproductive health and family planning camp in Penkim, Pungro and Khongsa villages under Kiphire district from February 19-20. The purpose of the camp was to create basic awareness on family planning methods and to sensitize the community on sexual reproductive health and rights issues and to provide free medical health services, counselling on family planning methods and laboratory services. The team was led by Dr. Dietho Koza. Altogether,  212 community members participated in the awareness sessions and 146 patients were treated during the two-day health camp for various ailments and 73 children received de-worming treatment.  During the camp it was observed that majority of the patients suffered from waterborne diseases like chronic gastritis and various skin ailments, especially in children.
