NEIDA conducts exposure tour, training for TDF

North East Initiative Development Agency (NEIDA) organised a two-day exposure & training at CIH Medziphema on July 14 and 15.
In a press release, NEIDA project associate, Longdilong informed that theory and practical classes on orchard management were conducted by horticulturist specialists, Dr Moa, A K Singh, Meribeni Shitiri and Mhasizotou.
Altogether, 10 orchard farmers from Sendenyu and Thongsunyu villages participated in the two days’ exposure tour cum training.
Longdilong informed that NEIDA was implementing the project titled “Integrated Tribal Development Programme under Tseminyu Block of Kohima District, Nagaland” supported by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).
The project period is for six years covering Sendenyu, New Sendenyu and Thongsunyu villages, under newly formed district Tseminyu, with the aims to help 200 tribal farmers, living below poverty line through “WADI” around their houses and in their land. The project associate informed that 200 acres of orchard was established under the project and 12 water harvesting tank constructed.
NABARD is also funding NEIDA to implement Integrated Livelihood Promotion Through Wadi in Pungro block of Kiphire district covering 200 households across four villages in orchard development.
