Neiphiu Rio to inaugurate 10-bedded ICU in Wokha

Commissioner secretary, Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Y. Kikheto Sema Friday paid a surprise visit to District Hospital Wokha to oversee the status of the 10-bedded ICU, which would be virtually inaugurated by Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio on January 6.
According to a DIPR report, while interacting with the Medical Superintended (MS) District Hospital Wokha, Dr. Thungbemo Patton, deputy chief medical officer, Wokha Dr. Zuben Kikon and doctors, Kikheto expressed the desire of the chief minister and minister H&FW to have a functional ICU by January 2023.
During the visit, Kikheto also inspected the PSA/oxygen plan, transformer and generator, which were recently installed but remained non-functional. He asked the concerned department to ensure that all equipment were restored at the earliest.
Lauding the doctors and nurses for working even during holiday season, he encouraged them to continue the good work and serve the people. He also asked them to sensitise the people about the new ICU, which would be functional by January 7,2023.
Deputy CMO, Wokha, Dr. Zuben Kikon appreciated the commissioner and secretary for visiting the hospital and assured to render best service to the people.
