NEISSR students embark on Rural Camp in Phek

Students from the North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR), embarked on a 10-day rural camp to Phek district as part of their academic curriculum.

The rural camp, an integral experiential learning component, was held in Zapami village for MSW 2nd Semester students and Tsupfume village for BSW 4th Semester students in Phek district. The primary objective of the camp was to provide students with firsthand experience of rural life while enabling them to apply their theoretical knowledge in real-life settings.

During their stay, students will be conducting a range of activities, including Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) exercises, awareness programs on various social issues such as health, education, sanitation, and gender equality, cleanliness drives, home visits, capacity-building sessions, livelihood assessments, and other community engagement initiatives.

The students will also document their observations and experiences, which will serve as valuable research material for future community interventions.
